Rhetorical Analysis #3

Title: " Bros Before hos": The Guy Code

Author: Michael Kimmel

In the article " Bros Before hos," the author Michael Kimmel explains how men should be in today's society.  Kimmel also discusses how men are being treated if they show their feelings towards anything that will consider them being a sissy. As the  guy code means no sissy stuff. Being a man means not being a sissy, not perceiving as weak, effeminate, or gay (609). It also means " Be a big wheel," " Be a sturdy Oak," and "Give them hell." Most of the men are shown in their homes by their parents, a older brother, or a cousin.
As in my experience, I have seen my younger brother trying to act tough and not showing any strong emotions that will consider him a sissy when he is surrounded by his friends. In the other hand, my boyfriend doesn't have any problems of showing any feeling towards anything because he was thought that if he fall he could get back on his feet...and it could be a lesson learned for another hard obstacle.
If men are using the guy code, It would be hard for someone to keep everything inside. Feelings, for example, if they show these they are consider a sissy, but what  if they are tired of following the "the guy code"? Men hide all those feelings behind that " straight jacket".
