Rough Draft

The world we live in is not the same as it used to be a few years ago. The state is getting broke each and every day that comes by. The government spent billions of dollars last year on school, prison and public safety budget cuts. With proposition 30, our state could be back on it's  feet and no budget cuts would be done.
Proposition 30 is a good opportunity to have in order to cover us from budget cuts on public schools, community colleges and universities. It would help students with their school materials and class courses. I am a current college student and it is my third semester here. I have been receiving financial help for the past year. I had to use my own money from my own pocket to buy my books this semester due to some financial issues. It was hard because text books are very expensive to buy. As part of doing my homework, about proposition 30, there were good pros that will happen if proposition 30 goes through. Students who were not able to afford to go to college before or who are not able to go, will be able to afford to go to college now without warring about how much you have to pay for school. If it does not go through, it will affect me same as with other students who are receiving financial help from the government. As being part of this community, I say prop 30 should pass.
It would be hard paying for college by yourself if proposition 30 does not pass. My mother had experienced college before. She would go to college and work at the same time, but every paycheck she would get, it would go to the rent, and other bills. The money she had left over was not enough to pay for her classes. My mother did not qualify for financial aid back then. It was her first semester at a community college, in half of the semester, she dropped out of school.
Proposition 30 will give 41.3 % of the income taxes to K-12 and higher education such as UC, CSU, and Community colleges will be given 10.1% to provide students with a good education. It will increase the sales tax and use revenue for four years. Proposition 30 will also fund public safety services from the state to local governments. It will raise about six billion dollars in additional annual state revenues from the years of 2012 -'13 through 2016- '17, with smaller amounts for education and the local public. Such as, the hospitals, prisons , and fire departments.
If proposition 30 does not pass, schools will lose money and eventually schools will be closed. You will have to pay taxes when buying online. It will affect college students because they would have to may more school fees. If proposition 30 does not go through, there would not be enough money on the fund for prisons. Prisoners won't have any classes were they can gain education. Also prisons would have limited space and prisoners would have to be on parole.
